We stayed with May in July and had an absolutely wonderful time. The homestay is beautiful and May is a fabulous host. She was able to accommodate our vegan needs - making an egg-free pancake is difficult and hers turned out perfectly. Family dinner around May’s table was a highlight of our trip.

May, Ton, and her family are the most amazing hosts and best guides through SaPa! The paths we followed hiking were off the beaten path - we were oftentimes the only ones in the area - and the views were incredible. Ton shared lots of information about the local plants and villages, which was very interesting. The home stay was clean and comforting with an absolutely unbeatable view! The food was also fantastic and it was very fun talking to May and Ton at night. I had such an amazing trip! I recommend booking a tour with Mayland Sapa Trekking to everyone!

We stayed with May and her family in the mountains of Sa Pa and we absolutely loved everything about our stay! May really took us into her world. She and her lovely family let us stay in their clean, comfortable and beautiful house. They cooked with all fresh ingredients from their land (we could help them cooking if we wanted) and she took us trekking down to the really authentic and beautiful villages around with the most gorgeous views on the rice fields. Not the touristic places, but the real authentic ones. While doing this, she told us all about her culture. May speaks English very well and makes you feel so welcome. We had the best time!! Can’t recommend her enough. ❤️ If you’re looking for a place to stay and to go trekking in Sapa, go to May!

Muchas gracias!

Hello May (and family), we just wanted to say how amazing of a weekend we had with you and your family. It was truly better than we could have ever imagined. Thank you for cooking for us, having us to stay in your house and helping us explore beautiful Sa Pa. Thank you also for answering our (many many) questions. It is so special to get such an authentic insight into your community. It is also lovely to see how much you love it. We will be recommending you to any friends and family visiting Vietnam. We wish we could have stayed longer. Lots of love, Emily, Neha and Meg 🥰💘🇻🇳

If you’re planning to visit Sa Pa – don’t think twice. And make sure you do it with May! This was honestly one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. The views are absolutely insane – endless green mountains, breathtaking rice terraces, fresh air, and landscapes that look like they came straight out of a postcard. Every single moment felt special. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was May. She’s not just a guide – she’s amazing. Super positive energy, fun atmosphere, always smiling, and genuinely caring about everyone in the group. She explained everything about the local culture and area in such an interesting and engaging way. It felt like we were hiking with a good friend, not just a tour guide. The food was incredibly delicious and authentic, and the entire trip was perfectly organized while still feeling relaxed and natural. I highly, highly recommend this experience to anyone coming to the area. Don’t miss it! 🔥

An unforgettable 3 days/2night trekking experience
An unforgettable 3 days/2night trekking experience with May in her local village. Staying with and learning about the local Hmong people is the best way to explore Sa Pa. May is a great host: cooking incredible food, kind and funny, speaks great English and knows the best trekking locations. Her homestay is lovely, having hot water, western shower and toilet and an incredible view over the rice terraces into the valley. Contact her via Whatsapp to book, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I did the 3d/2n Sapa trekking tour with May as part of our honeymoon trip to Vietnam. From the very first contact with her regarding the booking, May was personable, communicative, and accommodating. My wife unfortunately was dealing with a GI illness during our trip, and May graciously accompanied her back down the mountain to Sapa town and arranged a motorbike ride to her family's home so that she could arrive there early to rest! During the day, May expertly guided us along the trails and rice paddies in Sapa, and we spent the nights comfortably at her family's home in a Hmong village nestled peacefully in the mountains of Sapa. Not only did we witness stunning scenery, but we learned a lot about the Hmong culture along the way. I would highly recommend May to anyone looking to have an authentic experience in Sapa. Bring mud-worthy shoes if going during the rainy season!

Highly recommend doing your Sapa trekking with May! May was an incredible guide during my 3 day/2 night tour of the villages around Sapa. The first day was a hike from Sapa to the village/homestay location. The second and third days involved hiking around the nearby dam, rice terraces, villages and bamboo forests. May was very knowledgeable and gave in-depth explanations of daily life as we trekked around her village and nearby villages. She was also an excellent host and prepared delicious family style dinners all by herself each evening. The homestay itself was very comfy. Each room/bed had mosquito netting and the beds were clean with thick comforters. The homestay is located in a very beautiful valley above a few rice terraces. I had a fantastic time in Sapa thanks to May - and hope to come by again someday!

My friends and I had such a good time with May that we extended for 2 extra days. I really enjoyed the routes May chose for us, the food and her company. She has great English and I'd consider her a friend now! After the Ha Giang loop, this was so chill and a perfect contrast from the fast pace. A different but great way to see more of Vietnam.

This was an absolutely incredible experience. The trekking offered amazing views and my friends and I felt very supported by our guides. The food, especially the home cooked dinners, were delicious, and it was awesome staying at the home of a local Hmong family. The best part, however, was our guide May. She invited us into her home and family and made us all feel so welcome. We learned so much about the Hmong culture from her as well as stories about her and her family. She is one of the loveliest people I’ve met, and I already miss our time together. I would love to return for another trek - and another game of Uno. If you are looking for an authentic home stay and incredible trekking, I cannot recommend this enough. You will have the absolute best time with May <3

Truly an experience of a lifetime! I did the 3-day, 2-night trek with May and it was honestly one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of my entire trip. The treks were stunning - breathtaking landscapes, peaceful rice terraces, bamboo forests, and authentic village trails. We stayed in their home and were welcomed with such warmth and generosity. The food was incredible - shared dinners and breakfasts overlooking beautiful mountain views, made with so much care and love. May is absolutely wonderful - kind, happy, enthusiastic, and speaks perfect English, which meant we could have such meaningful conversations and really learn about Hmong culture, traditions, and daily life. It felt like more than just a trek - it was a real connection, and I feel so grateful to have had this experience. Couldn’t recommend it more! I will be back 🫶🏻

Me and my friends did 3 days 2 nights trekking with May. We all had a wonderful time walking through the beautiful nature. The Hmong women taught us words from their language and held our hands during the slippery parts. May was an excellent guide and host. I had wonderful food and time playing uno at the homestay. She helped us during the more difficult parts of the trek. Her family welcomed us with their hearts wide open. We also met the lovely puppy they have in their family. My heart feels very full after these days. I could not recommend this enough, I wish I could do this again. Thank you so much May. I will forever remember this🫶

I met a couple while doing the Ha Giang loop that highly recommended May to me. They had just come from Sa Pa the previous days! I’m sooo happy that the timing worked out, because I messaged May the day before arriving and thankfully she still had an opening available in her schedule. She met me at the bus stop and we had a delicious bowl of noodle soup near the station. (Tip: I would highly recommend if you are taking 8am bus from Ha Giang to Sa Pa, it will arrive at 3:30pm and you will miss most of the trekking that morning/ afternoon like I did, so you will get a fuller experience if you give yourself a day to settle into Sa Pa first) We spent the rest of the day exploring May’s village. She taught me some key phrases so I could communicate with the lovely people in the village which was really fun 😁 and I got to see the absolutely stunning rice terraces…..the sunset was so spectacular as we descended upon May’s humble and cozy home. Dinner was plentiful and delicious, I even learned how to roll spring rolls!! Also, breakfast the next morning was very yummy, filling and peaceful overlooking the valley 😌 we explored the bamboo forest, saw some waterfalls and even had the opportunity to pet some water buffalo along the way!! I was really happy because May provided me with size 11 US waterproof boots so I could venture out and experience walking through the rice terraces myself. It was truly such an extraordinary experience, May even taught me how to drive her motorcycle which was a super fun experience 😃😃😃 I will cherish the memories for the rest of my life 🥹🥹🥹 thanks so much to May and her wonderful family for hosting me 🙏

I took a one day treking tour to Fansipan mountain with May. She was really approachable, interesting and fun and I would recommend everyone to take her tour. Real and personal Sa Pa experience with the sweetest and funniest tour guide, May!!
We did a three day and 2 night Trekking with May. Before we booked, she answered all our questions and even did some research for transport for us. Overall, It was truly amazing. She is a great guide even-though she’s only 21 years old. May is born and raised in the village and has lived 2 years in the big city (Hanoi). We asked a lot of (personal) questions and she is very open and willing to share “everything”. Her level of English is far beyond averages in Vietnam, and she all taught herself from spending time with tourist and learning it at home. We chose to stay at her Homestay which is a great experience because this is gave us the real experience to see how the people in their village really go through their daily lives life. We met her parents and siblings and her brother even joined us for 2 trekking days. Despite some foggy days, May and her family really made our trip special. I would love to see her dreams coming through: expanding her trekking and home stay business so she can pay for schooling for her siblings, provide a living for her family, and eventually, travel the world!

Best experience in Vietnam💛
Me and my boyfriend got the recommendations from people we met during our travels in Vietnam. They said it was like walking with your sister thru the most amazing landscape you will ever seen. Besides the much fun we had in the homestay with the family and the other guests, had the homestay an amazing view over the valley which is full with beautiful rise field!! We booked the 2n3n tour.

Incredible experience in Sapa
I loved my time in Sapa and hiking with May and her sister. The views were stunning, we walked through rice fields, small villages, forests and waterfalls. May is an incredible person, she's kind, smart and open. She will tell you a lot of interesting things about her culture and tribe. I did a 2 days hike and I had the opportunity to stay overnight with her and her family. They were all very nice and welcoming. It is a unique experience and an authentic cultural immersion. 100% recommended Thank you a lot May, I hope to see you again!

Sapa. Experiencia inolvidable
Totalmente recomendable.

Incredible
Wonderful guide, brought us through the most amazing stunning routes. She knew all the places very well, and it was fantastic to be able to speak with her. Open minded, very intelligent person. Good English! Told us the story of her village, and traditions, allowing us to immerse ourselves in a different culture, and get a much more authentic experience to what is to live in Sapa! 100% recommend, if it is only to meet such a wonderful woman. Very large and cute house as well, cleaned and amazing traditional breakfast as well as pancakes.

Best experience in Vietnam
Had the best time tracking with May. She answered all the questions we had and told us all about the culture of the area. We stayed the night at the home of May and her family and they were so nice and welcoming. I'd recommend this trekking tour to everyone and would even do it again. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Beste gids in Sa Pa!

Magic place
I had the pleasure of staying at Mayland Trekking and Homestay for a week while I was in Sa Pa. I was really impressed with the professionalism of the guide, Mayland, and the family-friendly atmosphere of the homestay. Mayland is a very experienced guide and she knows the area inside and out. She was able to answer all of my questions about the local history, culture, and flora and fauna. She was also very patient and understanding, and she made sure that I was comfortable the entire time. The homestay is located in a small village Hau Thao of Black Hmong people. The family who runs the homestay is very welcoming and they made me feel like part of the family. They cooked delicious food and they were always happy to answer my questions about their culture. I would highly recommend Mayland Trekking and Homestay to anyone who is looking for a great trekking experience in Vietnam. Mayland is a great guide and the homestay is a great place to stay.

Truely amazing homestay
May is just an incredible person. I'm so glad that I met her and I will never forget our time together. She is a very kind-hearted, honest, knowledgable and authentic person. I was simply impressed by her in every way, as she independently started her buisness with actual authenticity and best quality I could've hoped for. Sleeping at her house was an amazing experience to see how Black Hmong people live and the food (although quite simple) tasted just heavenly delicious. The fact that she speaks English so well got me the chance to ask her anything about Black Hmong people and her life, which she openly shared with me. I feel really blessed to have the experience to learn so many new things about such an intersting culture and that she aprreciated my curiosity about it. Also she was very flexible to adapt our time together up to my wishes so whatever you're looking for she will provide it for you. Whatever program you're choosing, simply to meet her and see what an amzing peron she is will be worth it!

Amazing trek
My father and my brother met May last year in June and loved her. When we came back this year we called her immediately. We spend one wonderful day with May and her sister So. They took us to the rice fields and villages. The trek was very complete because we saw the nature and we also met people. Everyone is very kind in the village. May and her sister was very nice, they explained a lot of things about region and rice cultivation. May speak English very well. If we go back to Sapa next year we definitely take May as guide. I highly recommend May as guide.

What an amazing experience.
I really enjoyed the trek that Mây took us on through the many villages. You can see her love of nature and culture. I can't believe she's only 18, she's amazing. Her knowledge, patience and kindness throughout the trek was so amazing. I then decided to stay with her family for a few days at their home in Hau Thảo Village. Spent 4nights with her and her lovely family and got to go to family event which was amazing. I got to learn so much and everyone was so nice and welcoming. I really miss her and a her family and if I ever come back to Vietnam I'm definitely going to visit them again. What an amazing experience that I'll never forget. Thank you May.

Beautiful time around Sapa with Mayland Trekking and Homestay
I loved my experience with Mayland, including the people I was introduced to and the places we went to. The scenery is truly beautiful and I was truly confortable with the people. May spoke good English in addition to speaking Vietnamese and Hmong. I spent time in her village and home which is about 10 km from Sapa. The road to get there can be done by walking the mountains or by moto and both are good experience. Her homeland is surround by the family land where various food is grown, including rice. It is a peaceful and scenic area to stay and would also be a good place to learn how to grow organic food. The place is surrounded by spectacular mountains and nearby are some waterfalls, small rivers and various villages speaking Hmong or other language. These people and area can be a good help for people to experience qualities like love, peace nature and the soul. Although May, her family and friends carries traditions, they love to continue to learn thru new conversations and life experiences. Even if we did not meet a long time, I felt at ease, loved and trusted. I think I will remember these good time for all my life.
